About the customer

EVVA Sicherheitstechnologie GmbH is a globally recognized developer and manufacturer of mechanical and electronic access control systems. Founded in Vienna in 1919, the company remains family-owned. Research, development, and production all take place at the Vienna site, from where the products are exported worldwide. EVVA stands for high-quality security products, reliable partnerships, and comprehensive support in all security matters.

Project goal

The goal was to develop modern administrative software that covers existing functions while also meeting new and evolving requirements. The aim was to create a future-proof platform that combines modern design with state-of-the-art technology.

Additionally, it was essential to ensure seamless integration with EVVA's in-house hardware development. Since the firmware of the hardware components is developed directly by EVVA, close coordination between the software and hardware teams was crucial. This was achieved through regular and precise communication between the teams. As a result, all functions of the access control components could be seamlessly integrated into the management software.

Solution

  • Requirements management and communication: A dedicated requirements engineer captured, structured, and documented the requirements of the EVVA teams. This central role ensured a clear definition of technical requirements and business objectives, as well as their efficient implementation.

  • Scrum team with direct customer involvement: A dedicated Scrum team at open200 worked closely with the project stakeholders at EVVA. Regular reviews, stand-ups, and retrospectives ensured flexibility in responding to new requirements and continuous software improvement.

  • Technology and Design Update: The management software was rebuilt using modern technologies and enhanced with a user-friendly design. Thanks to the continuous involvement of EVVA as a partner, the user experience was optimized step by step and tailored to the needs of end users. Thanks to the close partnership with EVVA, a powerful, user-friendly, and future-proof management software has been developed. The seamless integration of the firmware functions of the EVVA hardware components was a key factor in its success. Today, the software serves as a central tool for managing access components and permissions.

The collaboration between EVVA and open200 is a prime example of an agile partnership that prioritizes innovation and quality. With a clear focus on requirements management, agile development, and seamless hardware integration, a solution has been created that sets new security standards for the future.
